Give a discount on a quote or order

You can lower the price of one line, or of the whole quote or order. Both happen in the order editor while you build the quote or order.

Before you begin​

You need the Order and Sales roles. Discounts are only editable while the quote or order is not read-only.

Discount one line​

  1. Open the quote or order and find the product in the product list.
  2. Type a percentage in the line's Sales Discount, % column. The sales price of that line updates.
  3. Click Save.

You can also type the final Sales price directly, or a Total discount % and let the editor work out the price.

tip

Changing the quantity of a line resets its sales price and discount. Set the quantity first, then the discount.

Discount the whole quote or order​

  1. Below the product list, click Add extra discount.
  2. Choose a percentage or an amount in euros and type the value.
  3. Click Save.

The extra discount applies after the line discounts, on the subtotal.

When you should not do this by hand​

If the same discount applies to every order that meets a condition, for example 10% for orders above 5,000 euros, set it up once as an incentive rule instead. See Incentives.
