Change the status of an order

An order, quote or request moves through the statuses your environment has defined, for example from Draft to Confirmed. Cancelling is a status change too: you move the order to whichever status your environment uses for cancelled orders.

Before you begin

You need the Order role. Which statuses you can move to is defined in Order Statuses, where each status lists the statuses that may follow it.

Change the status

  1. Open the order, quote or request.
  2. Click Change status in the header. The button is disabled when no next status is defined for the current one.
  3. In the Change order status dialog, select the status you want to move to.
  4. Click Save.

The dialog warns that this action cannot be undone. The order now shows the new status in its header and in the listings.

What happens next

  • If the new status is marked as public, the customer can see it in the webshop and the Send to client button becomes available in the header.
  • Event actions that listen for this status change run, for example an order confirmation email. See Event Actions.
  • On the Orders page in the Backoffice, the order moves to the tab of its new status set.

Cancel an order

Move the order to the status your environment uses for cancelled orders. If no such status exists, ask whoever manages Order Statuses to add one with the right next statuses.
