Roles and permissions

What each role gives you access to, in one place. A Backoffice user gets one or more roles, and each module role has an access level. The pages in this Help Center state the role they need under Before you begin; this page is the overview.

Two kinds of role

Platform Access roles decide which part of Propeller you can open. They have no access level.

Platform AccessGives access to
Sales HubThe Sales Hub sidebar: companies, product catalogue, quotes, orders and the Action Hub
BackofficeThe Backoffice sidebar. Without it, module roles below have nothing to open

Module Permissions decide what you can do inside the Backoffice. Each one has an access level.

Presets

When you create a Backoffice user, two presets save you the clicking:

  • Full Admin switches every role on with Owner access.
  • Sales Representative switches on Sales Hub, User management, Product Data and Order Data with Owner access, and nothing else.

Anything else shows as Custom. See Backoffice Users for the steps and the Menu Access Preview, which shows which menu items a combination of roles opens.
